Different application occasions and application needs determine the different types of selection. When selecting flat linear motors, it is important to pay attention to the following points:
1. Effective stroke requirements for linear motor movement: that is, the distance from one end to the other;
2. Movement time: that is, the time required to complete the motor movement within the effective stroke;
3. The speed of movement or the frequency of reciprocating motion: that is, if the motor movement time cannot be accurately provided, the speed or movement frequency of the motor can also be provided to deduce;
4. The load of the motor: that is, how many components of the load the motor needs to be loaded during actual movement;
5. Motion accuracy requirements: that is, repeated positioning accuracy;
6. In addition, there are also the use environment of the linear motor, what is the ambient temperature, what is the resistance problem in operation, etc.

7. The selection of linear motors includes the calculation of effective large thrust and continuous thrust demand.
Thrust = Total mass x acceleration + friction + external stress
The formula for calculating sustained thrust is as follows:

We select motors based on peak thrust and sustained thrust. In general, the reliability coefficient should be set at 20~30% to offset external stress and friction.
For example, we need a linear motor in triangular mode to move a 4kg load by 0.3 meters in 0.2 seconds. The motor is in the same stroke, and the stoppage time before the return trip is 0.15 seconds. For the sake of simplicity of the calculation, it is assumed that friction and other unbalanced forces do not exist. Calculated from the above formula, as follows:


Effective large thrust = acceleration force = deceleration force = load x acceleration = 4 * 30 = 120N
Continuous thrust: Because of the triangle mode, there is no continuous thrust.
